We are currently seeking a Commercial Insurance Underwriter in our General Liability Department.

Essential Functions:
  1. Review, evaluate, underwrite, classify and quote new and renewal submissions.
  2. Establish strong working relationships with brokers to assure the highest level of success.
  3. Review inspection reports and audits and provide instructions to the CSR staff.
  4. Review various miscellaneous requests from brokers and handle appropriately.
  5. May participate in training other staff members.
  6. May audit work and create status reports for management.
Knowledge, Skill, and Experience:
  1. 2 years Commercial Insurance experience with a Wholesaler or MGA.
  2. Good analytical skills required.
  3. Well developed oral and written communication skills.
  4. Read and comprehend.
  5. Mathematical skills should be well developed.
  6. Well developed organizational and time management skills required.
  7. Ability to properly prioritize.
  8. Ability to work with Microsoft Excel, Internet and Microsoft Word.
  9. Ability to multi-task
  10. Must type 40 wpm
Physical Job Description

Typical Working Conditions:

Office environment, no usual exposures.

Equipment used:

Computer, keyboard, mouse, telephone, and calculator.

Essential Physical Tasks:

Job requires sitting at a workstation for 95% of the working day. Repetitive use of the computer, keyboard, mouse, and telephone.
