We are currently seeking a Claims Specialist specializing in Commercial Insurance.
Job Summary:
Responsible for claims review, preparing claims package for our carrier, applies any applicable exclusions, and endorsements. Mediator between Adjusters, Retail Brokers, and BTIS Management.
Prepare and answer correspondence on denial letters, claim acknowledgements, status letters, and liability coverage evaluation.
Essential Functions:
- Review new claims for essential information/claim and coverage analysis to determine if claims should be covered
- Prepare Claims packages, recommend applicable exclusions, endorsements, and document appropriate systems and logs
- Mediator between Adjusters, Retail Brokers, and BTIS Management
- Correspondence on denial letters, claim acknowledgements, status letters, liability evaluation
- Prepare reports for Management in regards claims
- Correspond with Attorneys in regards claims
- Develop and maintain a rapport with Adjusters
- Assist Agents with claims filing procedures, advising of forms and documentation needed for process
- Auditing open claims for status (why is it still open?)
Knowledge, Skill, and Experience:
- Knowledge of coverage and liability analysis
- Must have strong analytical skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Urgency/Time management/Multi-task
- Understanding various lines of coverages which include General Liability, Property, Commercial, Auto, and Workers' Compensation
- Efficient in Microsoft Office suite
