Summary:

The Workers' Compensation Underwriter is responsible for the evaluation, selection, acceptance, rejection, pricing and servicing of commercial insurance policies within accepted company procedures and guidelines. Maintains effective agency relationships and manages agency profitability within assigned territories.

Responsibilities:

  • Reviews renewal policies for eligibility, new business to ensure that all policy documentation is in place, and decisions made by underwriting assistants to ensure long term profitability
  • Determines acceptability of renewals utilizing loss control inspections, motor vehicle records, loss experience reports and underwriting filings
  • Reviews and revises pricing and coverage to ensure premiums charged are commensurate with the exposure
  • Reviews daily correspondence, reports, endorsements, loss control reports, and publications pertaining to responsibility
  • Examines loss notices, desirability of risk notices from claims and recommends appropriate action
  • Assists rating technicians on rating decisions
  • Places facultative reinsurance for risks exceeding the reinsurance treaty capacity within the company
  • Coordinates with the department manager for the processing of non-renewal and conditional renewal notices within time frames as required by the Department of Insurance

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred
  • Thorough knowledge of property and casualty underwriting procedures and policies
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications, Internet Explorer, and have the ability to learn new software programs

Location: Rocklin, CA  Position: Customer Service Representative - Small Business / BOP

Responsibilities:

  • Thoroughly and efficiently gather customer information (when needed), access and fulfill customer needs, educate the customer where applicable to prevent the need for future contact and document interactions through the company's electronic filing system
  • Continuously evaluate and identify opportunities to drive process improvements that positively impact the customer experience
  • Representative assists customer by determining requirements; answering inquiries; resolving problems; fulfilling requests; maintaining database
  • Enhances organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent is required
  • At least one year of outstanding customer service experience is required
  • Insurance experience is preferred
  • Experience with Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office is required

Locations: Rocklin, CA and Omaha, NE  Position: Business Development Associate

Job Description:

The main area of focus will be to generate new leads with the aim of creating more sales. This candidate will work on some sales follow-up activities, as well as maintain customer relationships and ensure customer loyalty through excellent customer service, and meeting customer's needs appropriate to their business. The Business Developer usually works as part of a team and closely with other departments within the organization.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification is recommended, but a proven background in business development may be sufficient
  • At least one year of outstanding customer service experience is required
  • Experience in the Insurance industry is preferred
  • Experience with Internet Explorer and Microsoft Office is required

Key Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of strong presentation skills and possess a strong record of business-to-business sales is essential in this role
  • Required to have strong research and strategic analysis skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and ability to call potential clients with confidence are all key
  • Excellent organizational skills are essential and performance monitoring will be a requirement
  • Develops a strong pipeline of new customers and projects in accounts through direct or indirect customer contact and prospecting
  • Produces lead reports and documents important customer opportunities; ensures action is taken and leads are followed through
  • Provides input into strategic marketing activities for new products and enhancements to existing products based on customer needs
